Great Product!Jul 18, 2008 I had been using the Good Start Supreme in the orange cans, but switched to this formula with natural cultures. My baby's poop looks even more like breastfed baby poop. I think he may be pooping more, but I think it's good for him so it's okay. Good Start was already my favorite formula-- not as bubbly as others, his poop has always been soft, its nutritional balance is excellent, and his burps smell sweet!

I am happy with this formulaMar 17, 2008 I switched to this formula after trying Parents Choice (all generic store brand formulas are made by the same company) for a month (she is now 8 weeks old). My baby girl was constipated only going once every two days (while I was holding her legs up for her) and when she did it was as formed as adult stools. I read that the comfort proteins would help her have softer stools and more often. Even though it is over twice as expensive, I figured it was worth a try. She has been on the formula for a week now and I am quite pleased. The formula mixes up easier and faster than the generic brand, it isn't frothy or full of air bubbles and it doesn't smell bad (her burps smell like fresh milk instead of rotten milk). She doesn't fuss as much during feedings and she eats more. Her stools are soft and they aren't full of curds, but they are still very smelly (who's poop isn't) and the stool color is completely different- it is a dark green-dark grey mud like. When she passes gas it is more smelly too. She seems to be going more often at least once a day.
The powder is very fine- I noticed that the can weighs slightly less than the other brands its size and I think it runs out quicker but that could be because she is eating more now too.
I wanted the generic brand to work for the price but I now see that it is worth paying extra for her to not be grumpy and constipated (I am getting everyone I know signed up for coupons). I am hoping that the cultures will be beneficial in the long run as well. Take note though--I just read on a website to not heat this formula past body temp or it will kill the cultures.
Great help for babies with dyscheziaDec 12, 2007 My baby girl was diagnosed with dyschezia (difficulty passing stools) when she was around one month old. She would strain and push after every feeding, and it was hard to see her go through it, despite doctors' reassurances that the condition would solve by itself around the third or fourth month (it actually disappeared around the seven month). The Good Start milk really helped make her first months of life easier in this regard. Other formulas would just make the problem worse. Even though she is now able to digest cow milk, she is still on Good Start because she likes the flavor so much. She just turned one, and we just switched to Good Start 2. It might be expensive compared to other formulas, but it is worth every cent! I believe the secret lies in the partially hydrolyzed milk proteins, which Nestle has patented under the name "Comfort Proteins".
Fantastic FormulaNov 26, 2007 I was using Carnation Good Start Supreme and I thought that was my life saver till this one came out and my doctor insisted I use it and I did! Best thing I did for my son. I was noticing my son was getting acne around his mouth from the Good Start Supreme and after going through 3 formulas prior I didn't want to change because this formula didn't upset his stomach or give him gas so I just accepted his break out. After using Good Start Naural Cultures I've notice acne gone and very easy digestion on his tummy. I recommend this formula to anyone needing a change in their formula
BEST alternative to Breastmilk!Nov 18, 2007 This formula is so much closer to breastmilk than any other and is the only thing that made me feel good about not breastfeeding. It is easy to digest and doesn't smell bad at all. The formula and my son's breath after eating reminds me of those high-nutrient drinks for the elderly ("Boost" and "Ensure"). I buy this stuff by the case!
